Maritime Academy Begins Four-Day Capacity Workshop For Workers
The Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) Iron, on Wednesday commenced a four-days worksop on capacity building for senior and middle level workers of the Academy.
Declaring open the workshop, the Rector of the Academy, Commodore Duja Effedua (rtd) urged staff members of the institution to sustain and improve upon service delivery by rededicating themselves to their duties.
The Rector who was represented by a Director and Head of Department in the Academy, Dr. Kelvin Okonna, described the theme, Cascading Performance Management as apt and timely in the drive to sustain and improve upon the gains achieved in human capital and infrastructural developments.
While thanking the Academy’s staff for their commitment and support to the management, the Rector explained that the workshop is expected to run through modules like: Introduction To Performance Management; Gap-Assessment Of Performance Management System; Performance Planning & Goal Setting; Defining Performance Indicators For MAN, Oron; Assessing & Improving Corporate Performance amongst others.

The workshop which is a collaboration between the Academy and the Federal Ministry of Transportation/Value Bridge Consulting, has renowned human resource experts as facilitators, and is expected to utilize group discussions and case study analysis in it’s mode of learning.
Amongst participants at the workshop are employees of the Academy drawn from different department and the media.
