The plan resumption of Oil exploration and drilling in Ogoniland suffer set back with the criticism trailing the Plan.

In a Press Statement, today signed by a frontline Ogoni Leader, Chief (Hon) Victor Tombari Giadom, titled: SUPREME SACRIFICE PAID BY KEN SARO-WIWA IS LOUD ENOUGH TO PROVIDE VOICE AND LEADERSHIP FOR OGONI PEOPLE, NOT GOV WIKE , he said his “attention was drawn to the so-called meeting held by few Ogoni leaders in the Rivers State Government to endorse Gov Nyesom Wike to lead Ogoni people in oil resumption discussions with the Federal Government, my intention was to ignore the entire meeting because the efforts made so far in that meeting are efforts in futility”.

Chief Giadom went further that “the supreme sacrifice paid by Ken Saro-Wiwa and other leaders of Ogoni is loud enough to provide voice for the Ogoni people and provide leadership for all of us.

“Ogonis are endowed with credible leaders that can speak on behalf of Ogoni and discuss our needs to the Federal Government.”

“The powers to decide what happens to the oil well is domiciled with the Federal Government, and I think we have Ogoni people that are credible enough to lead that delegation, lead that discuss for a fruitful resolution of the contentious oil well.

“We need nobody, we don’t need Gov Wike to speak on our behalf nor lead Ogonis to the very contentious issue that has taken lives of prominent Ogoni people in the past.”

And we are warning that let us not use this opportunity to create further crisis in Ogoni, so that we can have a peaceful Ogoni and bequeath peace to our generation unborn, Chief Giadom says.
