JUDICIARY: Appeal court president conducts maiden mediation appeals

ABUJA- President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban Mensem, on Monday, conducted the inaugural session of the appellate court’s first mediation appeals.

Speaking at the session held at the Court of Appeal Mediation Centre Abuja, Justice Dongban Mensem, said the innovation was the first of its kind in West Africa, and aimed at promoting mediation and resolution of dispute in a fair and just manner.

The PCA noted that alternative dispute resolution is taking centre stage globally as it provides a win-win solution, and therefore urged parties to embrace the scheme.

Hon Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban-Mensem is currently the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, Nigeria and Life Member of Body of Benchers.
