The Foundations, which embarked on the training at Aleyita community in AMAC, along Airport Road, Abuja, thought the widows on how to produce meat pie, fish roll, doughnut, puff-puff and chin-chin among others.

Anneozeng, while speaking, expressed concern for women who lose their husbands in Nigeria and the world at large, saying that such experience can be extremely sadden considering the challenges they continued to face on a daily basis.

“Losing a husband or a partner can be an extremely saddening experience, and for many women in the world, becoming widows can be the beginning of a whole new set of challenges such as providing and meeting the needs of the family” she said.

The foundations also empowered the vulnerable widows among those that were present at the occasion with finance, so as to boost their already existing businesses.

Anneozeng asserted that through financial support, they will be able to create jobs for themselves, then be free from poverty and all forms of oppression during and after the period of Coronavirus pandemic.

Combrade Memuna and Mrs. Eleje also supported the widows with wrappers and other valuable materials.

Aside the training and presentation of materials, Memuna and Eleje at the occasion educated the widows on mental health as well as personal hygiene, while CEO Meri Nig Mr. Muyiwa spoke on business management.

In appreciation, the widows thanked the foundations for coming to their aide and by giving them hope at this trying period.

The United Nations observes international widows Day every 23rd of June since 2011, to draw attention to the voices and experiences of widows and to galvanize the unique support that they need.
