Rivers: Newly inaugurated APC Chairman promises to reposition the party
The new caretaker Chairman of All Progressive Party, APC, Rivers State, Dr. Sokonte Huttin Davies, has assured members party that they are going to reposition the party within short period of time.
Davies gave the assurance on Monday evening while responding to questions in a visual interview with Aspheric news.
He said that although, he is not the sole administrator, saying that 24 hours after their inauguration, they have been making consultations, taking advice from stakeholders, to ensure that they did not disappoint the members of the party.
According to him, “The caretaker committee was inaugurated today and we had our inaugural meeting shortly after the inauguration.
“It is not about me, it is about us. This opportunity to serve is a collective responsibility and that is why we are going to embark on underground work to deliver maximally.
“The state APC knows the directions we are going to take. we think they should be assured is that we are there for peace, we are there to reposition the party vibrantly” Davies said.
Davies asserted that since their inauguration, they have been receiving overwhelming support from various people in the state and even beyond, adding that calls and text messages have been coming in from members.
“People have been calling and text messages have been coming, that they trust us.We don’t want them to regret, we don’t want to take their trust for granted.
“However, such an opportunity is not an achievement so to say, it is a responsibility. We must make sure we reach out to everybody that matters for the purpose of putting the party on a strong footing” he said.
