Breaking: 573 new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, Lagos tops leaderboard again
Lagos state has once again topped the list of new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria with 216 cases out of 573 announced by the Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control, NCDC on Monday night.
The death toll increased by four to 424, however, there was no clear indication whether Senator Bayo Osinowo of Lagos state, who died Monday was part of the statistics.
With today’s new cases released by NCDC, Lagos has now expanded its caseload to 7,319, while the national total stands at 16,658.
Rivers state also logged in 103 cases on Monday, its highest in recent weeks, making the confirmed cases for the oil rich state now pushed it from 7th on the national grim chart to 5th position.
Rivers is now just behind Edo with overall 620 cases, after another 40 cases were reported.
Oyo’s caseload also increased to 575, with an additional 68 cases.
