Power Tussle as VIO, Police and Military Police Clashes over Seizure of Car
On Monday evening a VIO officer arrested a car belonging to a Military Police Officer in Abuja.
The VIO Officer who didn’t know that the car belonged to a Military Police Officer arrested the car for parking somewhere close VIO office along AYA in the Federal Capital Territory.
Matters made worst was when the VIO Officer allegedly slapped the Military Police Officer who didn’t respond to the VIO’s harassment but called on some of his Military Police colleagues who came over and upon getting to the place, the VIO had also already called his police counterparts.
The VIO, Police and the Military Police spent hours dragging with each other, then suddenly a police officer fired raffles into the air over 5 times which led to further commotions between the police and the military police officers.
The Nigerian Police Force Officers were claiming superiority over the Military Police and was saying all forms of things against the Military officers, due to the heat of the moment another police officer brought out tear gas and threw it into a passing trailer and also caused another commotion in the process.
While all this power struggle was ongoing, the DPO of the AYA police station had to be called upon and also the commander of the Military Police Officers, it took over 2 hours before everything was settled.
