Ndume Expresses Worries Over Lack of Proper Funding of the Armed Forces

Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South, Borno State expresses worries concerning the underfunding of the Armed Forces of the country.

The senator while speaking on an interview gave several considerate and realistic points which emphasized on the need for the Federal Government to not relax its active response on their quest to end insurgency in the country.

He made it clear that the lack of proper funding to this aspect of the country has a lot of side effects to how effective the armed forces would have been in tackling this issues.

Though the government is trying its best in this regards, but needs to put more funds on the fight against the terrorism, kidnapping, stealing and banditry that has been on a constant rise for some years now.

Ndume has been highly effective in his role as the Chairman Senate Committee on Army, through several acts of selflessness towards ensuring a permanent end to the issues of insecurity in the country.

The security of lives and properties of citizens in a country is very well dependent of the strength of its Armed Forces. And if this section of a country is lacking the proper funding needed to acquire all the necessary fire arms and security tools then the safety of its people will be highly jeopardized.

He senator re-enforced the need for the government to focus more on the funding of the armed forces to ensure effective security activities that will assure every Nigerians protection against all forms of insecurities and he also said that the armed forces are suffering from lack of proper funding from the Federal Government.

The senator further disclosed that the lack of funding is affecting the enforcement of proper attack on insurgencies and other related crimes that needs more attention at this critical time.

He believes that if the government can fund the sector, there will be more positive achievement in the fight against insurgency.

It is therefore, wise for the government to hid to the clarion call of the Senator to ensure that proper funding goes to the section for armed forces to be able to fight and put end to the unrest experienced in the country at this time which has led to the death of many, deserted a lot of communities and destroyed a lot of lives and properties.
