The All Progressive Congress is reportedly searching for an acting National Chairman as replacement for the erstwhile National Chairman of the party, Adams Ohiohmole, who was suspended by a Federal High Court in Abuja. A reliable source recently disclosed that while some governors are backing the former Governor of Cross River State, Clement Ebri, some lawmakers of the party were rooting for former Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba.

Meanwhile, the Acting National Secretary of the party, Victor Giadom, says he is assuming the leadership of the party. In a statement issued on Sunday, Giadom said: “By Article 14.4 (i) of the Constitution of our great party, the Deputy National Secretary is empowered to act as National Secretary in the absence of the National Secretary and all the actions taken since the emergence of Hon. Buni Mai Mala as Executive Governor of Yobe State are taken in my capacity as the acting National Secretary.”
