Rivers police smash child trafficking syndicate
The Commissioner of Police Rivers State Police Command, CP Mustapha Dandaura, on Wednesday announced the arrest of child trafficking syndicate in Woji, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
CP Dandaura said the operatives of the Eagle Crack Unit made the arrest on Tuesday, while the public awaits the conclusion of the Investigation in the alleged murder case of Chima Ikwunado and four others, otherwise known as the Ikoku4.
Dandaura said twenty four Babies between the ages of 1 and 2 years as well as 4 pregnant teenagers were rescued, even as the girls were receiving medical attention at the Police Clinic.
In a statement, the CP also appealed to the public, particularly residents of the State whose babies were missing to come forward for identification and collection of their wards.
