Court orders release of Dasuki’s passport
A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama has ordered the release of the passport belonging to former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.
Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf gave the order following an application by Dasuki’s lawyer, Ahmed Raji. Ahmed Raji in his application prayed the court to direct the registrar of the court to release his client’s travelling document to enable him get medical treatment abroad, in pursuant to section 491, 492 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.
Dasuki is standing trial for alleged diversion of funds earmarked for the procurement of arms meant for fighting Boko Haram in the Northeast.
