Angry mob kill two suspects who tried to steal Tricycle

Two armed robbery suspects, Janaidu Abubakar and Nasiru Bala have been killed by an angry mob, in a failed attempt to snatch a tricycle in Katsina, City Round reports. The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the story said the two suspects died in the hospital, after being rescued from the mob, by a police patrol team.

According to the Police spokesman, four men including Janaidu Abubakar and Nasiru Bala, reportedly asked the Tricycle operator, Rabiu, to take them to the Arabian Quarters in Katsina. On getting to the quarters, the suspects strangled Rabiu and stabbed him several times before escaping with the Tricycle. A severely injured Radiu raised an alarm, which alerted sympathizers who chased the suspects up to the Katsina-Kano Road.

While one of the suspects escaped, a police patrol team led by DPO Batagarawa rescued three of the suspects and took them to the general hospital, Katsina. Two of the hoodlums, Janaidu Abubakar and Nasiru Bala, dided on admission, and Mohammed Usman have been taken in for interrogation.
