Ohaneze Ndigbo stage walkout as IGP meets with south-east governors
President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief John Nwodo and some traditional rulers reportedly walked out of the South-East Security Summit held at the Government House, Enugu, which was attended by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu
The meeting which started about 10am, had in attendance, Governors of Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu; Ebonyi, Dave Umahi; Anambra, Willie Obiano; and the host, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. The Imo State governor was represented by his deputy, Prof. Placid Njoku. Also in attendance was the Commissioner of Police in Enugu, Mr. Abdulrahaman Ahmad.
NAN further reports that the closed-door meeting was still ongoing, when government officials went into a private meeting with the Inspector General of Police. The Ohaneze Ndigbo and other aggrieved guests including royal fathers, members of the clergy, staged a walkout in protest.
