Buhari felicitates with Jonathan’s Minister, Emeka Wogu

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, as he turns 55 on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. In a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Buhari wished Mr. Wogu long life and greater service to motherland.


President Buhari further noted that Emaka Wogu has a bright future ahead of him in different areas of endeavour, and prayed God’s blessings and care for him as he celebrates his birthday.


Emeka Wogu was born on January 29, 1965 in Umuahia, Abia State, and completed his secondary education at Ngwa High School, Aba in 1980. He attended the Imo State University where he obtained an LLB in 1986. He attended the Nigerian Law School between 1986 and 1987, and established the Emeka Wogu & Co. chamber in 1990. He also holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Calabar.

Emeka Wogu who was appointed Nigerian Federal Minister of Labour & Productivity in April 2010 by former President Johnathan, was vice-chairman of the Aba South LGA in Abia State before becoming Chairman of the Local Government in 1993. He was elected to the Federal House of Representatives in 1998 and served briefly as the political adviser to Orji Uzor Kalu, governor of Abia State in 1999.
