Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s sack affirmed by court
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (Anambra South) of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has been sacked by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in the Bwari area of Abuja on Friday January, 17, 2020. Senator Ubah is said to have presented a forged National Examination Council (NECO) secondary school certificate to the INEC.
The Judgement of Friday is reaffirming an earlier judgment of Justice Bello Kawu of the Federal High Court in Abuja. Justice Bello had given the judgement in a case brought before the court by Obinna Uzoh, which claimed that the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, presented a forged National Examination Council (NECO) secondary school certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which enabled him to contest the Anambra South Senatorial Election.
Dr. Obinna Uzoh also in the suit challenged that the Young Progressive Party (YPP) did not conduct a primary election for its party for the Anambra South Senatorial election.
