Physicians say 78 years old Bernie Sanders is fit for US Presidential Election
Notes from physicians Philip Ades, Patrick Savage, and Martin LeWinter of the University of Vermont and other physicians, have stated that 78 years Old Senator Bernie Sanders and one of the leading Presidential aspirants in the United States, is fit enough to run for presidency. This is coming after the Senator suffered a heart attack in October. In one of the notes released, it was asserted that Senator Sanders underwent a cardiopulmonary exercise tolerance (CPET) test in December, where his performance was “rated above average compared to a reference population of the same age.”
The attending physician at the U.S. Capitol, Brian Monahan in his own note on Monday said the Senator was in good health. “You are in good health currently and you have been engaging vigorously in the rigors of your campaign, travel, and other scheduled activities without any limitation.” He also said “Your heart muscle strength has improved, the heart chamber sizes, wall thickness, estimated pressures, and heart valves are normal. Several 24-hour recordings of your heart electrical activity indicated no significant heart rhythm abnormality.”
Reviewing Senator Sanders’ Health Information, Dr. Mary Ann McLaughlin, director of cardiovascular health and wellness at the Mount Sinai Heart Center has added that the Senator’s heart attack occurred in an artery often called the “widow-maker,” and the fact that he received prompt treatment to reopen that blood vessel helps explain how well he’s doing.
Senator Bernie Sanders is an American politician who has served as the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2007. Before being elected to the Senate, Bernie was the Vermont’s at-large Congressman from 1991 to 2007. He is also the longest serving independent in U.S. congressional history.
In a related news, Former Vice President Joe Biden, a Democratic aspirant for the US 2020, said on Monday he would consider choosing a Republican running mate if he is the party’s nominee by next year. According to him, “There are some really decent Republicans that are out there still.”
