Lafarge Africa Cement GMD resigns, Joins Dangote Cement PLC
Mr Michel Pucherco has resigned as General Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Cement Manufacturers, Lafarge Africa PLC. The resignation which takes effect from January 17, 2020, was announced by Adewunmi Alode, General Council and Secretary of the Company. Mr Michel Pucherco has served as an Executive on the Board of the company since April 1, 2016.
In a related development, Lafarge’s rival company, Dangote Cement has announced Mr Pucherco as it’s new General Manager, effective from February 1, 2016. This was contained in a disclosure notice issued by the company.
Before joining Lafarge Africa PLC, Mr Pucherco who is reputed to have a proven record of dramatically improving business results through implementation of change management initiatives and process standardizations was CEO, Bamburi Cement in Nairobi, Kenya from October 2005 to January 2009, and CEO of Lafarge Halla Cement in South Korea from January 2009 to March 2016.
- Mr Michel Pucherco graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique, a public Higher Institution in Palaiseau, France.
