The President National association of Nigerian traders Dr. Ken Ukaoha and the MD/CE of NIWA
Chief Dr George Moghalu both chaired the second session of the 8th paper presentation led by Dr Ken Ukaoha, President of NANTS.
The ceremony which welcomes dignitaries from transportation sectors and other related sectors in the state was grassed with high expectations on issues concerning this sector.
During presentation Ukaoha pointed out that “Wealth creation are directly linked to the free movement of goods and services in the country“. The president use this avenue to call on all Nigerians to have a rethink and patronized locally made Nigerian goods and brands inorder to add value to the nation’s economy. He opined that absence of good roads and mass transit systems are some of the major factors that hinders activities in this sector, while many road routines are in abandoned shape and trapped end, some unregistered transport officials are busy putting heavy levies on road users which is unnecessarily in nation building. He call on appropriate bodies and security officials to quickly looked into this menace as this could affect smooth flow of the nation economy value and impact. He equally notes that, ensuring smooth movement of goods, and services and other logistics will enhance increase in trade value.

While speaking, he commented on the various medium of transportation, it values and relevance ranging from the sea, Air, Water, Road and pointed out it limitations, challenges and proffer quick solutions that could addressed the challenges. For the objectives and goals of AFCFTA would only be achieved if the challenges confronting this sector is addressed, he said.
