The Governor of Kastina State, Aminu Bello Masari on Thursday made a statement saying that calling for a state of emergency on security would not automatically fix the security situation in the country.
On Tuesday the House of Representatives had in its resolution a motion over the worsening security situation in the country and then called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency on security.
The former speaker of the house of Representatives Governor Masari, stated that the declaration of a state of emergency would not serve as a resolve to the lingering insecurity in the country, rather the commitment of every Nigerian irrespective of political and religious affiliations to a peaceful nation. He said this to State House correspondents after meeting with the Chief of staff to the president, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He pleaded with Nigerians not to debate security issues even while he stated that the military is already overstretched. Details later:
