Gunmen abduct 2 nurses in Kaduna hospital, hours after abducting Greenfield students

Barely hours after abducting students of Greenfield University in Kaduna state, Thursday took another toll when two nurses were kidnapped on their night shift at the General hospital in Idon of Kajuru Local Government.

In confirming the incident, the local government area Chairman of Kajuru, Hon. Cafra Casino, called on the people not to panic as investigation has commenced into the kidnap of the two nurses.
With not responses from the authorities yet, Dr. Shingyu Shamnom, Medical Director of the hospital, told journalists that the gunmen wielding dangerous weapons scaled through the hospital fence and carried out abduction.

He, Dr.Shamnom went on to say that the gunmen entered the hospital forcefully, shot sporadically and made away with the two nurses who were on their night duty, as the identified themselves as medical workers.
In his comment he explained that after gunshots were heard, they were extremely cautious and had to stay at their various houses.

“We were in our homes until a call was put through to us that it was kidnappers who invaded the hospital, only to discover that two of the nurses on night duty have been taken away by the bandits. “The kidnappers went away with the phone of one of the staff whom we thought was also kidnapped but he later returned,” he said.
