FCT FA Election: Kolo Returns As Kwali Area Football Council Chairman

Hon. Salihu Kolo on Thursday returned unopposed as the Chairman Kwali Area Football Council, winning by landslide gathering all the five votes.

Kolo whose first term in office stabilised football in the Area Council promised to consolidate on his achievement in his second term.

The election which was conducted at Icon Hotels, Kwali, Abuja on Thursday morning also saw the vice chairman, Mr Daniel Etsu returned with 5 votes from five.

In the third election observed by the Chairman, FCT FA Election Committee, Mr Victor Ijeremen, Muhammed Bukar was also returned as Member of the Area Football Council.

Chairman, Kwali Area Football Council, Hon. Salihu Kolo after the free and fair election said today remain one of his happiest day on earth and promised to raise a formidable team from the Council to contest and win the FCT Aiteo Cup competition.

“Today is one of my happiest day because i don’t know that i well be returned unopposed like this, the kind of support i get from my people is overwhelming.

He attributed the decision of the delegates to return him unopposed to the achievement during his first term in office and the fact that the delegates wanted continuity.

“And it is not that we don’t have capable hands to contest with me but in Kwali Area Council, we believe in continuity and i want to believe that was the reason i was returned unopposed.

“Our achievement recently could also be responsible for no one to contest with me. Just this January, the Kwali Area Football Council organised a successful U18 competition which was won by Kolo Babes FC.

“As we move into new dispensation and State Aiteo Cup is around the corner, we shall scout and get a formidable team to represent Kwali Area Football Council. The team should be able to beat any to final and probably represent FCT in the national Aiteo Cup.”
