Some residents of Agip Estate Road 24 in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State are counting their losses after a fire burnt down a building in the area.

Our correspondent gathered that the fire which started at about 4 pm yesterday, did not record any loss of life.

Our correspondent also gathered that the efforts of the youths of the area prevented the fire from spreading.
However, some other inhabitants blamed the Rivers State Fire Service for what they described as a lack of swift response when they were called.

Meanwhile, Rivers State Commissioner for Special Duties, Doctor Bariere Thomas, who spoke with our correspondent advised members of the public to be cautious on issues that would cause fire disaster.
Thomas Bariere also claimed that no call was placed to the Fire Service numbers.
