Olympics: Nigeria to host 2nd phase of Beach Volleyball Qualifier

The Confederation of African Volleyball has awarded Nigeria the hosting right of the CAVB 2nd phase of beach volleyball Group C women Olympic qualifiers.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics beach volleyball qualifier will take place from 4th to 8th March, 2020 at Jabi Lake Beach, Abuja.

Nigeria women’s beach volleyball team is drawn alongside,Kenya, Cape verde,Congo RDC and Zambia in the group C qualifiers.

 
The president of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod who was visibly happy to host the Olympic qualifiers expressed optimism on the team nigeria’s qualification at the end of the tournament stressing that all machineries have been put in place to motivate the team to qualify.

“The Federation is excited and encouraged to host the tournament and as you know that Nigeria’s female team is highly rated and ranked in Africa. So by God’s grace, the women’s team will win the ticket from group C” Nimrod assures.

The head Coach of the national women’s team, Francis Imoudu assured Nigerians of winning the ticket emphasising that the players are in top form to deliver having scaled through the first hurdle in Accra Ghana.

The Technical Chairman of the federation, Martin Melandi said the players would be invited to the camp immediately after the end of President Beach Volleyball tournament holding in Kaduna between 19th to 23rd February, 2020
