The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced its intention of recruiting more military officers as part its efforts to curb the insecurity menace confronting the nation.

In a message posted on the official twitter handle, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo said: “We are handling security well, and as you know, including military deployment in diverse fields, like the Boko Haram in the northeast,” A news source also quotes the VP as saying: “In fact, we have to now recruit more into the army, and much faster than we ever did because we need men on the ground; resources also – to buy more arms, to buy more platforms,”

The recent rise in attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents in the last few months have become a thing of concern to Nigerians.

Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have called for the sack of the Nation service chiefs, while the General Oversee of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Sunday, led his Church members on a Prayer Walk Exercise, to make supplications on behalf of the Nation.
