Abdulmumin Jibrin, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in the January 25, 2020 rerun election for Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency, has announced his return to private life. Jibrin made this known in a message on Twitter, where he shared pictures of his son accompanying him to office.

The tweet reads: “My son Abdulrahman aka Majidadi accompanied me on my first day to return as chairman in my company. “We are open for business let me see if I still have the business man in me. I may end up making some good money.”

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Datti-Yako had polled 48,601 against Mr Jibrin who scored 13,587 votes, to win the Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Jibrin had earlier conceded the defeat, while stating his decision not to petition the outcome of the election.

In a statement, Jibrin said: “However, I have congratulated my opponent and will not file petition in court. I will make no further comment on this matter. “I urge the media to please respect my decision. This is the end of another beginning. “I have moved on!”

Recall that while serving as Member of the House of Representative, Mr. Jibrin had accused the leadership of the House of Representatives including the then speaker, Yakubu Dogara, of padding the budget. Mr. Jibrin was suspended from the House of Representatives for about a year based on the allegation.
