U.S., Japan and EU evacuates Citizens from China, as death toll reaches 170

Amidst the outbreak of the coronavirus that has recorded 7,711 confirmed cases and 170 deaths, the United States Government have evacuated some of its citizens who were stocked in Wuhan in China, the origin city of a coronavirus outbreak.


According to reports, a flight carrying 195 Americans arrived the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, California, on Wednesday.

According to the Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Nancy Messonnier, the Americans were excited to arrive to the U.S.


Nancy Messonnier said: “These passengers are happy to be back in the United States, “I heard that the people on board cheered loudly when the plane touched down safely in Anchorage.”


The passengers will remain at the reserve base for three days, and for the period, they will be tested for the virus, and samples sent to the U.S. center for disease control.


Similarly, Japan has evacuated its citizens, with about 250 citizens of the European Union, evacuated to France.
