Buhari returns to Nigeria from UK-Africa Investment summit

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria after spending a week in London, where he had gone to attend the inaugural UK-Africa Investment Summit. Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmaad, in a tweet wrote, “@MBuhari returned to Abuja this evening, from London, the United Kingdom, where he participated in the UK-Africa Investment Summit.”

While in London, President Muhammadu Buhari attended the UK-Africa Investment Summit, where he made a case for a Commonwealth Trade Zone. On the side-lines of the summit, Buhari met with the Prime Minister of UK, held a bilateral meeting with President Nana Akufo Addo of Ghana, and attended a town hall meeting with Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, with Heavy Weight Champion, Anthony Joshua in attendance.

During the President’s visit to London, business deals between UK companies and Nigeria were signed. These include Savannah’s deal to invest £315 million in Nigeria.

Another British firm, Tex ATC contract to install five airport control room towers worth £2 million in different parts of Nigeria and Trilliant to install £5 million of Smart Metering to Abuja and Low energy will install street lighting in oyo state .
